Fresh out of college in 1987 Vikas Kalra had a dream to work with by-product in an industry which could bring foreign exchange and generate employment in India. He had a keen interest in processing by-product in a sustainable way and soon became one of the first companies to do eco-friendly leathers from the country. Amongst the first projects was to start supplying quantities of eco-friendly leathers for Gap Kids and Gap Babies production. This, amongst other reasons, paved way for rise of an enterprise. His wife, Sonali, soon joined after completing a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) degree from University of Akron, Ohio, USA, in 1991.
Vikas travelled extensively in India to source raw material and later took this exploratory journey to New Zealand, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Korea, China, Japan etc. The thrust has been on fair value for all and desire to contribute to the supply of quality outerwear for populations of USA and Europe. The mission that was to providing great quality outerwear has now also evolved into the making of 100% organic sustainable product. Today. each piece is created with a new vision in the works, by proficient craftsmen using modern production techniques with amalgamation of traditional skills.
